Foreigner Registration

Foreigners who live in Japan need to obtain Foreigner Registration at the city hall of their residence within 90 days of the date of entry. It is compulsory to carry the Foreigner Registration Card at all times(except those below 16 years old). When the police or immigration officer asks to see it, you have to show it.

When you have change of Name, Nationality, Occupation, Name or Adress of Employer, Status of Residence, Renewal of stay	within 14 days of the date the change took place	In person(or proxy from the same family for those below 16 years of age)	1. When you change your address	within 14 days of the date you move to a new address	Same as above	1. Foreigner Registration Certificate

NOTE: The size of photos should be 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm,passport style (taken within the last 6 months and identical). Please write your name on the opposite side of the photos.
