The proper method for waste disposal
Garbage should be placed in the designated place by 8:00 am on the right days. The garbage collection days are fixed for each area. So please ask your neighbors or ask at the Life and Environment Department(see below) about garbage collection points and days.
Please be sure to separate all garbage before putting it out and don't put your garbage out on the night before collection, or after it has been picked up.

Burnable Garbage (Collection is twice a month)
Dust, Kitchen waste, Waste paper, Cloth, Dead leaves, Plastic or vinyl chloride containers
- Please put this garbage into the bag, designed by Mishima City (Printed with light blue characters) and tie the top securely.
- To throw away a branch, first cut it to less than 50cm in length and 10cm in thickness, and bundle it up.
Recyclable Refuse (Collection is twice a month)
Empty cans, Empty bottles, Other unburnable garbage (Glass, Metal, Pottery)
- Please separate empty bottles as follows and put them into the designated boxes.Clear bottles (White box), Brown bottles (Brown box), Other color bottles (Blue box)
- Please place items other than empty cans and bottles into the container for "Other Unburnables". (Only food and drink cans should be put into the container for "Empty Cans" and only bottles should be put into the "Empty Bottles" boxes.)
Recyclable Paper (Collection is twice a month)
Newspapers and inserts, Magazines, Corrugated cardboard, Recyclable Cartons
- If paper gets wet, it will not be able to be recycled, so if it rains, collection will be postponed to the following collection day. Items must be tied together.
Pet (Plastic) Bottles -White Trays (Collection is twice a month)
- Please wash , clean and dry them. Put pet bottles into the blue collection bag after removing the caps of the bottles, and white trays into the green collection bag.
Hazardous Garbage (Collection is once a month)
Cigarette lighters, Spray cans, Light bulbs, Fluorescence lamps, Razor blades
- Please empty aerosol cans/spray cans and pierce a hole in the bottom. Wrap razor blades in newspaper.
Dry Batteries
Used batteries should be placed into the special box which is located at each garbage collection point.
Large-sized Garbage
Furniture, electric-appliances, bicycles, mattresses etc.
- Please bring this garbage directly to the Waste Disposal Center, because this garbage is not collected.
