Rakujuen  (park map)

Rakujuen is located in the immediate south of JR Mishima Station, and it is the park which is full of nature of 71,850‡u in width among thick forests. It was built by Imperial Prince Akihito Komatsunomiya , who played an active part in the Meiji Restoration, as an alternative house in 1890. Mishima-city has administered management as a city park since 1952, and it was designated as a natural monument of Japan and an official natural beauty spot in 1954. In the park, there is the tree which grew from a seed on lava (the Mishima lava flow) from when Mt. Fuji erupted approximately 14,000 years ago. There are also 160 kinds of trees including the three planted at the time of the establishment of the house by Akihito Komatsunomiya Imperial Prince. About 30 kinds of wild birds can be seen each season. In addition, there is a local district museum, a Mishima City cultural assets museum gRakujukanh, a cafeteria, a zoo, and a space with amusement park attractions. Rakujuen is popular with people of all ages, from infants to adults in all four seasons.

¡Entrance Fees

individual adults (over 14) 300 yen, children (aged 4 to 14 ) 50 yen.
(Groups with over 30 members) adults 270 yen, children 40 yen.

¡Parking at the Rakujuen Parking Lot

200 yen for up to two hours with 50 yen for each extended hour.
Group buses: free (reservation necessary)
